LYNNE THOMAS
WILDLIFE AND LANDSCAPE ARTIST

Lynne has always loved being creative whether drawing, painting, photography or writing poetry.   From childhood, she was particularly keen on drawing animals and as an adult continued this passion using soft pastels, completing various commissions.  In 1989, Lynne won the Britain’s Painters ‘89 Animal Award held at The Mall Galleries, London.

Mainly self-taught, Lynne has enjoyed experimenting with some life, portrait and landscape classes using watercolour, acrylics, mixed media, printing and sculpture.  Currently acrylics are her favourite medium together with different surfaces like canvas, linen, handmade paper etc and an assortment of mark-making tools have produced some interesting and creative effects.

Lynne's main passion is creating images that truly capture the character and soul of the incredible wildlife both in the UK and overseas - particularly those that she has been lucky enough to encounter/experience.  Lynne is also inspired by the beauty of natural landscapes and seascapes.

Lynne takes part in the Surrey Artists Open Studios, held in June each year, the AppArt Exhibition and regularly exhibits with Surrey Contemporaries at Denbies Wine Estate and other local venues.

She is also happy to undertake commissions.
